WINTER (Evermore Academy book #1) by Audrey Grey ~#bookreview

At first I was unsure of this book due to what appeared to be yet another Academy book with simple writing and lots of millennial slang.

However as I kept reading I quickly realized how wrong I was! Audrey Grey builds an amazing, highly detailed, and all encompassing fantasy world. Academy books seem to be a dime a dozen but this was a unconventional take with characters you come to love, an academy you feel like you’re actually attending, a BFF friendship that is every girl’s dream, and a slow burn love/hate romance that will melt even the most frozen of hearts. Not to mention the delightful supporting characters including the spitfire pixie Ruby and even the “resident mean girl” Inara who was entertaining to hate!

I absolutely adored the riveting mortal/fae world of Everwide, the twists and turns, and I honestly can’t wait to see how the story continues to unfold in book two! Winter left me with the best book hangover and I recommend it for anyone who loves fantasy!
