The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh: #bookreview

This week is Reviewathon! Every day I will be posting a review for #bookreviewsgotbackedup for all the reviews I’ve written and haven’t posted or all the books I’ve read but had yet to review!
📖 Day 1: The Beautiful by @reneeahdieh ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I thoroughly enjoy a vampire book set in the New Orleans French Quarter that includes historical fiction, it’s a nice change from the “vampires feeding off of and falling in love with humans” trend.
The vibrant 1870’s New Orleans setting, combined with the many different languages, created a rich, authentic Old World feel that I can never get enough of.
Both Celine and Odette are strong female characters that compliment each other. I adored them both. Bastien is a deeply thought out character and even comes off as sexy when compared to the devil.
This is not a quick read as there are lots of details and intricacies of relationships to cover, however the slower parts were balanced well with the angsty hate to love relationship turned love triangle.
The end was simply amazing, wrapped up just enough loose ends and left just enough questions that I desperately want to read The Damned now!
